To document a real job site, use a camera service such as EarthCam, OxBlue or TrueLook. To show a building that does not exist yet, use an AI generator such as Kispo's Build Rise, which turns one render into a 5 or 10 second construction timelapse. They solve different problems, so choose by whether the footage has to be real.
Kispo is our product. We list it below with its limits, and we say where another tool is the better fit.
What counts as an AI construction video tool?
Two different jobs share this search term. The first is progress documentation: cameras and capture software that record a real site so owners, lenders and crews can see what happened. The second is construction visualization: AI that generates a "building going up" clip from a render or photo, usually for pre-sales, social posts or a pitch.
The first group produces evidence. The second produces an illustration. Mixing them up is the most common mistake we see, so the table below labels each tool by job.
Best AI construction video tools compared
Prices and terms below were checked on each vendor's own site in October 2026. Where a vendor does not publish a price, we say so instead of guessing.
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Free trial or free tier | Output | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kispo Build Rise | Pre-construction marketing from one render (visualization) | 14 credits for a 5 second clip, 26 for 10 seconds; plans from $9/month | $1 trial (14 credits), no subscription | 5 or 10 second 1080p clip, fixed camera | Generated, not real. Built around American-style wood-frame homes. Short clips only |
| EarthCam | Large commercial sites that need 4K and live streaming (documentation) | Not published; quote only | Demo offered; no free tier stated | 4K video, time-lapse, live stream, panoramas, 31x optical zoom on ConstructionCam 4K | No public pricing; hardware and service contract |

| TrueLook | Sites that also want AI safety and activity alerts (documentation) | Not published; quote only | None stated | Automatic time-lapse; 4K IR camera models; TrueAI daily briefs and alerts | No public pricing; full time-lapse resolution spec not on the page we checked |
| OpenSpace | 360 walk capture and progress tracking against plans (documentation) | Not published; based on annual construction volume | Pilot of Core available; terms not stated | Photos, video, 360 walks and drone flights; Track add-on | Not a time-lapse or marketing video tool |
| Sensera Systems | Solar jobsite cameras with AI hazard flags and progress summaries (documentation) | Not published | None stated | Fixed, PTZ and security cameras; AI progress summaries by area | Its page does not describe time-lapse output; ask before buying for that |
| Runway | DIY AI video from a still with your own prompt (visualization) | Standard $15/month; Pro $35; Max $95 | Free plan: 125 one-time credits | Gen-4.5 costs 60 credits per 5 second clip; 4K upscaling on paid plans | General-purpose model with no construction controls; check every clip for design drift |
How we picked
We included tools that people actually cite for "construction progress video" and that publish enough on their own sites to check. We left out general project-management suites that do not produce video. We read each vendor's pricing and product pages in October 2026 and dropped any figure we could not confirm there. Nobody paid to be listed, and Kispo does not rank first by default.
Tool notes
Kispo Build Rise
You upload one image of the finished building. Kispo generates an empty-lot version of the same view, then animates the build between the two: excavation, foundation, framing, finishes. The camera stays locked. The clip is 5 or 10 seconds at 1080p, and the $1 trial's 14 credits covers one 5 second clip. The app is written around American residential construction, so it suits wood-frame houses far better than towers or industrial buildings.
It is a marketing illustration. It does not show what is happening on your site, and the framing sequence is invented by the model. For a step-by-step walkthrough, see our guide to making a construction sequence video from one render, or open the Build Rise construction video tool.
EarthCam
EarthCam's ConstructionCam 4K page lists 4K broadcast-quality recording, live streaming with multiple preset positions, 31x optical zoom and panoramas, with time-lapse documentation as a core use. Pricing is by quote only. It is the heavy-duty option for large projects where the owner wants a polished, long-run time-lapse.
OxBlue
OxBlue's pricing page describes four camera types (time-lapse, video and PTZ security, interior, solar), plus installation and professional time-lapse services. You can lease (prepay, monthly or custom) or buy (prorated, contract or prepay contract). No dollar amounts are listed, so you need a quote.
TrueLook
TrueLook records all day and lets you turn any stretch of a project into a time-lapse. Its TrueAI layer answers plain-language questions about the site, sends daily briefs and alerts, and tracks PPE, people, vehicles and equipment. That makes it more of a site-monitoring product with time-lapse included. Pricing is by quote.
OpenSpace
OpenSpace captures photos, video, voice notes, 360 walks and drone flights and ties them to your plans, with progress tracking as a paid add-on. Its pricing page says cost depends on your annual construction volume. The pages we read do not mention time-lapse, so treat it as a verification tool, not a video maker.
Sensera Systems
Sensera sells solar-powered, wirelessly connected jobsite cameras. Its AI reviews images through the day to flag hazards and summarizes progress by area, and it lists Procore and Autodesk Forma integrations. The page does not describe time-lapse output or pricing, so confirm both before you commit.
Runway
Runway has a free plan with 125 one-time credits and paid plans from $15 a month, and its listed Gen-4.5 model costs 60 credits per 5 second clip. You can feed it a render and prompt a construction sequence yourself. In our experience, general video models tend to change window layouts, rooflines or materials between frames, so review every second before it goes to a client. Runway is flexible, but you carry the prompting and the quality control.
Which one should you choose?
- General contractor or owner on a funded project: EarthCam, OxBlue or TrueLook. Real footage is the point, and all three work by quote. Ask each for a sample time-lapse from a similar-size project.
- Site team that cares more about safety and verification than video: OpenSpace or Sensera.
- Builder or developer selling homes before they are built: Kispo Build Rise. It is cheap, fast and works from the render you already have.
- Marketer who wants full control of the look: Runway, if you are comfortable prompting and reviewing.
- Someone who needs both: Use a camera service for the real record and generate a visualization clip separately for marketing. Label the generated one as a visualization.
Use AI construction video honestly
A generated timelapse should never be used as proof of progress, in a draw request, or in a lender or inspector update. Label it "visualization" or "artist's concept" wherever it is shown. If the building on screen differs from the approved design, fix it or don't publish it.
FAQ
What is the best AI tool for construction progress videos?
For real progress footage, camera services such as EarthCam, OxBlue and TrueLook are the established choices, all priced by quote. For a pre-construction marketing clip generated from a render, Kispo's Build Rise is built for exactly that. Which is best depends on whether the video has to show a real site.
Can AI make a construction timelapse from a single render?
Yes. Tools such as Kispo's Build Rise and general video models like Runway can animate a finished image into a building-going-up clip. The sequence is generated, not recorded, so the construction steps are the model's guess. Treat the result as an illustration for marketing, not as documentation.
How much does a construction time-lapse camera cost?
None of the camera vendors in this guide publish prices. OxBlue says it offers leases (prepay, monthly, custom) and purchases (prorated, contract, prepay contract), and every vendor here directs you to a quote. Ask for the monthly cost, install fee, relocation fee and final time-lapse editing fee separately.
Is an AI-generated construction video accurate?
Not in the sense of showing real progress. The model invents the build sequence, and it can drift from your design in small ways, such as window positions or roof shape. Compare the final frame against your approved render before publishing, and label the clip as a visualization.
Is there a free way to try this?
Kispo offers 14 credits for $1 with no subscription, enough for one 5 second construction clip. Runway has a free plan with 125 one-time credits. The camera vendors we checked do not state a free tier; OxBlue and EarthCam offer demos, and OpenSpace mentions a pilot of its Core product.
Try Kispo Build Rise with 14 credits for $1, or see the full plan pricing. For other listing and project video, read our guide to property walkthrough video from renders.
