Kispo vs Midjourney for architects

Midjourney is a general image model that invents beautiful buildings. Kispo starts from your drawing and tries not to change it. An honest comparison for architects, written September 2026.

The short version

Midjourney publishes four subscription tiers — Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega — and states that committing to an annual plan gives a 20% discount paid upfront, with yearly billing selected by default. The prices themselves are shown inside an account rather than on a public page, so this comparison does not quote a figure for them as of September 2026.

As a tool, it is a general image model. You describe a building and it produces an image of a building — usually a gorgeous one, and usually not yours.

Kispo's architectural tools start from something you made. An elevation, a model screenshot, a sketch, a plan. The entire design constraint is that the building in the output should be the building in the input.

Side by side

Kispo's column is generated from its own pricing code. Midjourney's column contains only what they publish on their own site, read September 2026.

Choose Midjourney for concept, mood and image quality

For early-stage concept imagery, competition boards, mood-setting and sheer image beauty, Midjourney is extraordinary, and no architecture-specific tool matches its range of style. If nobody is going to check the render against a drawing, use it — you will get a better picture.

Choose Kispo when the render has to be the actual building

The moment a client, a planner or a buyer compares your render to your drawing, invention becomes a defect. Kispo's tools are built around not changing the design: the elevation stays the elevation, the window count stays the window count, and the modeller's render prompt is even assembled from the scene's own material names so it cannot invent a finish. It also does the jobs Midjourney does not — staging, plans, 3D, video.

Questions people actually ask

Can Midjourney render my actual design?

Not dependably. It is a general image model: it produces an image that matches your description, which is a different thing from an image that matches your drawing. For concept work that is a feature; for a client-facing render of a real project it is the whole problem.

What does Midjourney cost?

Their documentation names four tiers — Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega — and says annual plans get a 20% discount and are paid upfront, with yearly billing selected by default. The actual figures live behind an account, so we do not print them here; check their site as of September 2026.

What does Kispo cost for a render?

4 credits ($0.35) for a photoreal image, 2.5 credits ($0.22) for a staged room, 4 credits ($0.35) for a plan or elevation rendered at 1K. Plans start at $9/month and new accounts get 14 credits with no card.

Can I use both?

Yes, and many architects do: Midjourney for the mood board and the competition image, Kispo for the render the client will hold up next to the plan.

The only comparison that settles it
