For an editable 3D model you can measure and change, RoomSketcher's AI Convert is the strongest start from an existing plan. For a fast 3D-looking image for a brochure or client meeting, Kispo is the cheapest at 4 credits (about $0.35). Builders who draw their own plans should look at Cedreo, and anyone who wants it done for them, GetFloorPlan.
Kispo is our product. It is in the list with its limits, and in 5 places below another tool is the better choice.
What does turning a 2D floor plan into 3D actually mean?
Turning a 2D floor plan into 3D means one of three different things: an editable 3D model you can walk through, measure and change; a 3D-looking image, such as an axonometric or furnished view, made by AI; or a finished bundle of 2D, 3D and tour images that a service produces for you.
Mixing up the first two costs buyers money. A model is geometry: walls are objects with height and thickness, and moving one updates every view. An AI image is pixels: it looks like a model, but there is nothing to rotate, edit or export. If you need the plan to move, see our comparison of AI tools that turn a floor plan into a video walkthrough. This list covers stills and models.
How do the best 2D floor plan to 3D tools compare?
The best 2D floor plan to 3D tools in 2026 fall into three groups: AI converters that build an editable model (RoomSketcher, Planner 5D, Ritn3D, Coohom), drawing tools where you trace the plan yourself (Cedreo, Floorplanner), and image or service routes (Kispo, GetFloorPlan). The table shows price, free entry and the main weakness of each.
Prices and terms were checked on each vendor's own site in November 2026. Where a figure is not published, we say so.

How did we pick these floor plan to 3D tools?
We picked these floor plan to 3D tools by reading the pages AI assistants already cite for this question, then checking each vendor's own pricing and product pages in November 2026. We kept tools that start from an existing plan or let you trace one. Nobody paid for a spot, and no vendor saw this article first.
What does each floor plan to 3D tool do well, and where does it fall short?
Each floor plan to 3D tool below wins in one situation and falls short in another. The AI converters save drawing time but need a clean, computer-drawn plan. The tracing tools are slower but more exact. Kispo and GetFloorPlan produce presentation visuals rather than a model you keep editing in the same app.
Kispo
Kispo runs in the browser, with no install and no graphics card. Plan to Model returns a 3D axonometric view in seven styles, from white card and clay to a 3D software render look. Plan to Life returns a furnished 3D view in 14 interior styles. Each costs 4 credits (about $0.35) per image. For geometry, the Astra Modeller takes the plan as a reference and builds walls, openings, slabs, stairs and a roof that export as a GLB, for 25 credits (about $2.19). The 14-credit, $1 trial covers the image route; the geometry route needs a top-up, the smallest being $5 for 50 credits.
Limits worth knowing: the plan images are pictures of a model, not files, and AI can drift from exact geometry. The Modeller is new, sometimes gets geometry wrong, and handles only rectangular footprints of one or two storeys. There is no Revit export, and none of it is a measured drawing. Our guide to making a 3D axonometric view from a floor plan shows the image route step by step.
RoomSketcher
RoomSketcher's AI Convert reads a JPG, PNG or PDF plan, or a clear photo of a paper plan, and maps walls, doors and windows into an editable project in under five seconds, according to RoomSketcher. You preview the result and spend credits only if you save it. The first conversion is free, then 5 credits each; the pricing page lists it at $20 per floor on the Free plan. Hand-drawn sketches are not supported and furniture is not converted yet.
Planner 5D
Planner 5D's Premium plan lets you upload a floor plan, turn it into a 3D project and furnish it from more than 10,000 catalog items. Premium is $19.99/month or $59.99/year, and Professional, which adds 4K renders, 360° walkthroughs and CAD export, is $49.99/month or $399.99/year, as published on Planner 5D's pricing page as of November 2026. It suits homeowners planning furniture more than architects checking a design.
Ritn3D
Ritn3D detects walls, doors, windows and rooms in a PDF, JPG or PNG plan and lets you correct them side by side before building an interactive 3D model, which it says takes about two minutes. Viewers open a share link in any browser. Walk-through mode needs Pro, and GLB and STL exports need Pro+. Ritn3D says CAD-exported PDFs detect best, its AI does not read hand-drawn plans, and DWG import is not available yet. A done-for-you service starts at $199 per floor.
Coohom
Coohom is an interior design and rendering platform whose Pro plan turns an uploaded floor plan into a 3D project, with unlimited 4K renders and 360° walkthroughs. Elite, at $69/month or $699/year, adds construction drawings and CAD export (USD, as of November 2026, while a year-end sale banner was showing). Coohom does not explain how its plan recognition works or how it handles scans, so test it with one of your own plans first.
Cedreo
Cedreo is built for home builders, contractors and remodelers. You import a PDF, PNG, DWG or DXF as an underlay, set the scale from a known measurement and trace the walls, and the 3D model builds as you draw. There is no AI step, which is slower but leaves every dimension in your hands. Cedreo's prices were shown in USD and may vary by country, so confirm at checkout. It recommends a computer with 16 GB of RAM.
GetFloorPlan
GetFloorPlan is a service, not an editor. You upload a DWG, JPG or PNG plan and its AI returns a bundle of visuals, with delivery stated as within 24 hours and a money-back guarantee. Sets run from $25 (2D and 3D) to $115, as of November 2026. The pricing page does not say whether a set covers one floor or a whole property, and an editable FBX or GLB model is a custom request with no published price.
Floorplanner
Floorplanner is a browser floor planner with a real-time 3D view and a large furniture library. You draw the plan yourself; its site does not mention AI conversion or importing a plan to trace. Free projects export SD images (960 by 540 pixels) with a watermark. Upgrades are paid in credits, from 5 for $8.15; subscription prices did not display on its pricing page when we checked.
Kispo's take: The most common mistake we see is buying a 3D picture when the job needs a 3D model, or the reverse. If a builder, a client or you will change the layout next week, start in an editable tool such as RoomSketcher or Cedreo, not in Kispo. If the plan is fixed and you need a convincing view for a meeting tomorrow, an AI image is faster and cheaper. Whatever you use, lay the 3D view over the original plan and check every opening: converters miss doors on busy drawings, and AI images can quietly move a wall.
Which floor plan to 3D tool should you choose?
The right floor plan to 3D tool depends on what happens after the 3D view exists. If the layout will keep changing, choose an editable model. If the plan is final and you only need a picture, an AI image is enough. If you would rather not touch software at all, pay a service and wait a day.
- Architects presenting a fixed plan to a client: Kispo, a styled axonometric or furnished view for about $0.35 an image.
- Realtors and homeowners editing a plan they were given: RoomSketcher, which converts the plan into an editable project and lets you preview before paying.
- Home builders and remodelers selling new homes: Cedreo, because tracing keeps exact dimensions and the renders are made for sales.
- Agents or developers who want it done for them: GetFloorPlan, from $25 a set with a stated 24-hour turnaround.
- A walkable model on a phone, or a file to 3D print: Ritn3D, which publishes GLB and STL export on Pro+.
- Furnishing a home on a budget: Planner 5D Premium, at $59.99 a year if you pay annually.
What else do people ask about floor plan to 3D tools?
People comparing floor plan to 3D tools usually ask four things: whether AI can do the job from a plain image, whether the result is accurate, what the cheapest route is, and whether PDF plans work. The short answers below are based on the vendor pages we checked in November 2026, and each one stands on its own.
Can AI turn a 2D floor plan into a 3D model?
Yes. RoomSketcher, Ritn3D, Planner 5D and Coohom all convert an uploaded plan image into an editable 3D project, and Kispo's Astra Modeller builds concept geometry from a plan reference. Results are best with clean, computer-drawn plans. Expect to correct missed doors or windows on scans and phone photos, and to trace hand-drawn sketches yourself.
Is a 3D render made from a floor plan accurate?
A 3D render made from a floor plan is a concept, not a measured drawing. Models built by tracing, as in Cedreo, keep the dimensions you set. AI images, including Kispo's, can drift from exact geometry, so a wall or window may shift. Check every room against the original plan before the view goes to a client or builder.
What is the cheapest way to turn a floor plan into 3D?
The cheapest way depends on the output you need. For a single 3D image, Kispo costs 4 credits (about $0.35), and a new account gets 14 credits for $1. For an editable model, RoomSketcher's free plan includes one AI conversion, and Ritn3D's free plan gives three bird's-eye renders a month. Prices are as of November 2026.
Can I convert a PDF floor plan to 3D?
Yes. RoomSketcher, Ritn3D and Cedreo accept PDF plans directly, and Cedreo also takes DWG and DXF files. Kispo reads page 1 of a PDF, so export or split out the page you need first. Our guide to building a 3D model from a floor plan PDF walks through preparing the file.
If a fixed plan needs a convincing 3D view for a client, try Kispo's floor plan to 3D tools with 14 credits for $1, no subscription. That covers three plan images, enough to judge the result against your own drawing before you pay for more.
