If you want an existing 3D render to look like a photograph, mnml.ai, ArchiVinci, Krea and Kispo all re-generate it with AI; Veras does the same from inside your modeling software. If you only need more pixels without changing the design, a faithful upscaler such as Topaz Gigapixel is safer. Check the output against your original either way.
Kispo is our product. We list it with its limits, and we say where another tool beats it.
What does an AI render enhancer actually do?
The term covers two methods with different risks. A generative enhancer redraws the image with a diffusion model, adding realistic materials, light and entourage so a flat SketchUp or Lumion output looks photographed. It can also move a mullion, change a roof edge or swap a material, because it is repainting, not editing. An upscaler adds resolution and sharpness while staying close to the source, but it will not make a CGI look real on its own.
Most architects need the first for client mood and the second for print. We covered the difference in more depth in render enhancement vs upscaling.
Best AI render enhancer tools compared
Prices and terms were checked on each vendor's own site in October 2026. Where a figure is not published or sources disagree, we say so.
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Free trial or free tier | Output | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kispo Render Enhancer | Fast photoreal enhancement of exterior or interior renders | 10 credits per render (about $0.83 to $1.00); plans from $9/month | $1 trial (14 credits), no subscription | Up to 4K; about 2 minutes per render | Generative, so details can change; no 8K |

| Magnific | Detail-adding upscale of finished stills | Paid plans only listed; check current pricing (shown in local currency) | None stated on its pricing page | Upscalers are included; maximum size not stated on the page | Creative upscaling can alter fine detail; pricing hard to compare |
| Topaz Gigapixel | Faithful upscaling for print, runs locally | $149/year, or $19/month on an annual commitment | None stated on its product page | Upscaling up to 16x pixels; "Art & CG" model | Adds resolution only; will not re-light or add materials |
How we picked
We included tools architects name when they ask for a render enhancer, plus two upscalers because many people need one. We read each vendor's own pricing and product pages in October 2026 and dropped any number we could not confirm there. Tools that only generate new images from scratch, with no way to start from your render, were left out. Nobody paid to be listed.
Tool notes
Kispo Render Enhancer
Upload an export from SketchUp, Lumion, Revit, Rhino or a similar program. Kispo runs a multi-step AI pass over materials, lighting and surroundings and returns a photoreal version, up to 4K, in about 2 minutes. It costs 10 credits for exteriors and for interiors, and the $1 trial's 14 credits covers one run. Try the Kispo Render Enhancer.
Limits: it re-generates the image, so geometry can shift. Always overlay the output on your original, as we explain in why AI renders change your building. It also tops out at 4K, while mnml.ai and Krea advertise larger upscales.
mnml.ai
Per mnml.ai's pricing, plans are Lite ($29 a month, 1,000 credits), Plus ($49, 3,000) and Studio ($119, 10,000), with 100 free credits at signup, 8K upscaling and a commercial license on every plan. Its site says it works with SketchUp, Revit, Rhino and Blender views, site photos and sketches. The Studio plan lists roughly 1,000 Fast renders a month at $119, against roughly 275 Kispo photos at $99, though the render types differ, so it is the stronger fit for high-volume studios. The Render Enhancer's own credit cost is not published on the pricing page.
ArchiVinci
ArchiVinci's render enhancer page describes a prompt-guided edit followed by an optional upscale to a 4096 px long side. The edit costs one credit on its default engine, new accounts get three free credits, and upscale needs a paid plan. It is candid about limits: no PNG, TIFF or EXR export, and no 8K. Plans are weekly, monthly or yearly.
Veras
Veras from Chaos runs inside SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, Archicad and other tools and turns the model view into a photoreal image or video. Its trial page offers 14 days free, then $348 a year for a named license or $528 for a floating one. If you want to keep your geometry anchored to the model, this is the more controlled route. It is not described as an enhancer for a render you already exported.
Krea Enhancer
Krea gives free users 100 units a day and 4 Enhancer images a day, with upscaling to 2K. Paid plans start at $9 a month, upscale up to 22K and include a commercial license. It is a generalist, so it does not know your building should stay put. Use it for mood boards and texture boosts, and check details afterward.
Magnific
Magnific offers creative image upscalers alongside its generation tools. The page we read showed prices in local currency, mentions annual savings of 25% and does not state a free trial. Third-party price lists disagree with each other, so check the vendor before budgeting.
Topaz Gigapixel
Gigapixel is desktop software for upscaling with models including Art & CG. It lists $149 billed annually, or $19 a month on an annual commitment, and claims upscaling up to 16x pixels. It stays faithful to the source, which is why architects reach for it before print. It will not change the lighting or materials of a flat render.
Which one should you choose?
- Architect who must keep the design identical: Veras inside your model, or Topaz Gigapixel for pure upscaling.
- Architect making client mood images from SketchUp or Revit exports: mnml.ai, ArchiVinci or Kispo. Try each on one of your own renders.
- High-volume studio: mnml.ai Plus or Studio, or a Kispo Studio plan; compare cost per final image.
- Freelancer testing the idea: Krea's free tier, ArchiVinci's three free credits, or the $1 Kispo trial.
- Print and large-format boards: A faithful upscaler (Topaz) or an 8K option (mnml.ai).
FAQ
What is the best AI render enhancer for architects?
There is no single winner. mnml.ai offers the most credits and 8K upscaling for volume, Veras keeps the design anchored inside your modeler, and Kispo is the quickest low-cost one-click enhancer. Topaz Gigapixel is safest when the design must not change. Test two on a real render.
Will an AI enhancer change my building design?
It can. Generative enhancers repaint the image, so mullions, rooflines, materials and window positions may shift. Upscalers like Topaz change far less. Compare the output to your original, and do not send an enhanced image to a client or a planning board without checking it.
How much does AI render enhancement cost?
From free to a few hundred dollars a year. Krea has a free tier, ArchiVinci gives three free credits, and Kispo is 10 credits per render with a $1 trial. mnml.ai starts at $29 a month, Veras at $348 a year and Topaz at $149 a year.
Can AI enhance a SketchUp or Lumion render?
Yes. Kispo, mnml.ai and ArchiVinci all accept exports from SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, Lumion, Blender and similar programs as JPG or PNG. Veras works inside SketchUp, Revit and others directly. Export a clean, well-lit view, because the AI can only improve what it can read.
Is enhancement different from upscaling?
Yes. Enhancement uses AI to redraw materials, light and detail so a render looks photographed. Upscaling increases pixel count while staying close to the original. You may need both: enhance for realism first, then upscale for print. Our guide on enhancement vs upscaling goes deeper.
