What counts as a good photograph
The reconstruction is only as good as the picture, and one habit fixes most bad results: fill the frame with one object.

Even light beats dramatic light. A three-quarter angle beats a flat elevation, because the model has more surface to work from. Busy backgrounds, reflections and motion blur all cost you detail, and no amount of prompting recovers it afterwards — there is no prompting here at all.
How it works
- 1Photograph one objectOne object, filling the frame, in even light, shot from a three-quarter angle so two faces are visible. A chair, a light fitting, a tap, a product, a piece of facade detail. Not a room, not a street, not a whole building.
- 2Give it a real-world size, if you have oneType the object's longest real-world side in millimetres and the mesh is scaled by a single uniform factor so that longest axis matches. Never per-axis — stretching each axis to its own number would quietly redesign the object.
- 3Wait for the meshReconstruction usually takes a couple of minutes. What comes back is a textured GLB stored in Kispo's own bucket, not a link that expires — you can orbit it, download it, or publish a share link.
- 4Use it or shoot againThere is no revision box here. A different result comes from a different photograph, so the workspace offers Generate again rather than pretending a text instruction can fix a reconstruction.
Real-world size, done the safe way
The raw output is normalised, so it arrives without a size. Giving it one is optional, and deliberately blunt.
Type the object's longest real-world side in millimetres. Kispo measures the mesh's bounding box from its own geometry and applies a single uniform factor so that longest axis matches your number. It never scales each axis separately — that would silently redesign the object rather than size it.
The scale is written as one extra root node in the file, so no vertex is rewritten and the mesh data is untouched. If a mesh declares no measurable geometry it ships unscaled, and the design notes say so instead of pretending.

Questions people actually ask
Can I turn a photo into a 3D model?
Yes, for a single object. One photograph goes in and a textured mesh comes back as a GLB you can download, orbit in the browser, or share. It costs 15 credits ($1.31) and usually takes a couple of minutes.
Will it model my house from a photo?
No. Whole buildings and rooms are the wrong job for this tool — that is what the Astra 3D Modeller is for. Photo to 3D is best on furniture, fixtures, products and facade pieces: one object, clearly lit, filling the frame.
What happens to the back of the object, which the photo never showed?
It is inferred. This is a reconstruction, not a measured survey, so hidden faces are the model's best guess and the parts you photographed are the parts you can trust.
What file format do I get?
A GLB with PBR textures, served from Kispo's own storage. It opens in Blender, three.js, model-viewer and most 3D pipelines. There is no USDZ export, which is why iPhone AR is unavailable.
Can I place it in a room at real size?
On Android, yes — the public share page hands the real GLB to Scene Viewer and places it at room scale. On iPhone you get the 3D viewer instead, because AR there needs a USDZ file that Kispo does not export, and the page says so rather than failing silently.
Is there a revision?
No. There is no text box that edits a finished mesh. If the result is wrong, take a better photograph and run it again — and that second run costs another attempt, because credits buy the attempt.
What does it cost, and what am I charged for if it fails?
15 credits ($1.31). You are charged when the provider actually ran and returned something — including a result with no usable model. You are refunded when it never ran: a rejected photograph, a dead key, a server error before the job started, a job that died in the queue, or any failure of Kispo's own. If the provider delivered and then Kispo's storage failed, that is refunded too.
